For this week’s up and coming “Pin It and Wear It” Challenge in part of our Dog Days of Winter Are Over blog series, 8 other bloggers and myself are sharing cute outfits we have found off of Pinterest {or somewhere on the web} and are trying to recreate the look ourselves. I do not consider myself a fashionista nor would I recommend myself giving fashion advice, but today I am going to share with you a couple different looks using a few of the same pieces {all are inexpensive wardrobe items too}, so you can recreate this look or use it for inspiration to come up with something totally new and awesome.
So before I show you my outfits, let’s get real here. I am a Mom, I spend most of my days running around chasing after a 16 month old. I wear yoga pants and am proud of it. I clean, cook, decorate, run errands, volunteers, teach classes, and run a business…mostly all from home. When it comes time for fashion…I want to look good but I don’t want to break the bank on expensive items that I see a lot of other fashionistas wearing.
What’s a girl to do? Get creative!
Here are my top stores for shopping for fashionable items while sticking to a budget:
I like to have staple items in my wardrobe and then mix and match pieces to create different outfits.

Reader tip: My best advice to keep your clothes lasting nicer, longer is to wash them after a couple wears instead of just one…unless you get really sweaty or you get food on them {you know that happens with young kids}. I also wash all of our clothes in a natural laundry detergent and hang dry a lot of my clothing items. When you are finished wearing something, hang it back up…don’t throw it on the bed, the floor, or the bathroom counter.
