Pin It & Wear It- Pinterest Inspired Fashion

Thank you for visiting Blissfully Ever After! If you subscribe to the RSS feed, you’ll get helpful tips and resources for creating a happier, healthier, and wealthier home sent straight to your email, for free!

For this week’s up and coming “Pin It and Wear It” Challenge in part of our Dog Days of Winter Are Over blog series, 8 other bloggers and myself are sharing cute outfits we have found off of Pinterest {or somewhere on the web} and are trying to recreate the look ourselves. I do not consider myself a fashionista nor would I recommend myself giving fashion advice, but today I am going to share with you a couple different looks using a few of the same pieces {all are inexpensive wardrobe items too}, so you can recreate this look or use it for inspiration to come up with something totally new and awesome.

So before I show you my outfits, let’s get real here. I am a Mom, I spend most of my days running around chasing after a 16 month old. I wear yoga pants and am proud of it. I clean, cook, decorate, run errands, volunteers, teach classes, and run a business…mostly all from home. When it comes time for fashion…I want to look good but I don’t want to break the bank on expensive items that I see a lot of other fashionistas wearing.

What’s a girl to do? Get creative!
Here are my top stores for shopping for fashionable items while sticking to a budget:
Target
Wal-Mart {yes, I said it, Wal-Mart}
Kohl’s
Maurices
TJMaxx
Ross
Second Hand Stores

I like to have staple items in my wardrobe and then mix and match pieces to create different outfits.

Today for church, I wore this:

But you could also make this outfit look like this:
Or combine the two looks together to make this:

Here is what inspired me for these outfits:

Where I purchased my outfits:
Yellow and Patterned Top- Target $6.50 each
Cream Cardigan- Kohl’s $12.00
Brown Cardigan- Ross $9
Brown Leggings- Wal-Mart $6
Brown Wedges- Target $6
Brown Boots- Kohl’s $30
Yellow Handbag- Target $15
Belt- Maurices $15
Jewelry- Gifts

Outfit Totals:
Outfit #1- $45.50
Outfit #2- $66.50
Outfit #3- $66.50

Reader tip: My best advice to keep your clothes lasting nicer, longer is to wash them after a couple wears instead of just one…unless you get really sweaty or you get food on them {you know that happens with young kids}. I also wash all of our clothes in a natural laundry detergent and hang dry a lot of my clothing items. When you are finished wearing something, hang it back up…don’t throw it on the bed, the floor, or the bathroom counter.

Don’t forget to come back tomorrow and link up with us for the “Wear It” Challenge tomorrow!!!

If you link up on just ONE of our blogs, your project will be seen on all NINE blogs!

If you don’t have a blog, we would still LOVE for you to join in. Share a picture of your project on my Facebook Page!
