As the Christmas spirit continues from our house to yours…today I am excited to share a fun Handmade Christmas Ornament {DIY Gift Ideas} for you to make. This is a very easy project that can be completed in under 1 hour and costs under $10 to make 12 Christmas ornaments.
Supplies you’ll need for this project:
Glass Ornaments
Faux Snow
Vintage Scrapbook Paper {looks like a brown paper bag}
Printer
Funnel
Jute Twine
Faux Snow
Vintage Scrapbook Paper {looks like a brown paper bag}
Printer
Funnel
Jute Twine
How to make the Handmade Christmas Ornaments:
Step 1: Remove the top from your glass ornament
Step 2: Using your funnel, begin adding faux snow to your glass ornament. I filled mine about ¼ of the way full
Step 3: On your computer {or you are welcome to write them by hand}, open Microsoft Word and create labels. The size for your labels should be “Avery US Letter 5160 from the drop down menu in the labels options. I then resized each column and row to: .63” High by 2.63” Wide. I used the “Traveling Typewriter” font that you can download HERE. You can either buy the scrapbook paper in 12”x 12” sheets or they have a smaller size in this color that fits right into your printer. If you have the bigger sheets, you will want to cut them down to size. Just take a piece of printer paper and lay it on top of your scrapbook paper and then cut around it to achieve the size you need. Type the words you feel reflect your idea of Christmas best and then hit print and your ready to begin cutting!
Step 4: Cut out your words. Tip: I cut all of mine the same size. This is easiest to do by cutting the words in columns and then by rows. It goes a lot quicker this way too!
Step 5: Begin stuffing your cute words into your glass ornaments. If they are not wanting to fit…cut them down a little bit until they do.
Step 6: Place the top back on your glass ornament and then cut a piece of jute twine big enough to tie a knot at the top to create a loop to hang from your Christmas tree.
If you want to skip step 3 and just print out the cute Christmas words onto white paper, click here for a FREE PRINTABLE.
