So far we sold off 3 complete rooms of furniture. When I say complete, I mean EVERYTHING. Couches, chairs, coffee table, end tables, TV stand, piano, dining table and chairs, décor, you name it…it was sold! Why you might ask? Well, we used the funds from selling these items to transform these spaces to how we want them. Our previous formal living room has turned into our family room.
This is what our family room looked like BEFORE
We sold all of the furniture from the previous formal living room area and had a blank slate for our new family room!
More on this spaces transformation to come, but in the mean time, here is a look at our finished gallery photo wall….
Our family room transformation is really coming along and is practically finished but I have a few finishing touches left before I will give you the full reveal.
Also, I have a special for you today!!!
A team member of mine, Amy, has graciously offered to give each of my readers 15%off their order if they purchase the Get Clean Starter Kit! We are working hard to inform families all over the globe in partnership with Healthy Child Healthy World and our company Shaklee about the dangers of using chemical based, toxic household cleaners. Here are some scary facts:
90% off all poison exposures occur at home
Asthma rates in children under age five have increased more than 160% from 1980-1994
On Average of one out of every 13 school-aged children has asthma
The U.S. household generates more than 20 pounds of hazardous waste each year
EPA studies indicate that elevated concentration of household chemicals persist in the air and long-term exposure to chemicals inside our homes may be harmful to us and our families
The following household cleaning products are designated as household hazardous waste by the EPA, and “improper disposal of these wastes can pollute the environment and pose a threat to human health.” These harmful cleaners are:
Oven cleaners
Drain cleaners
Wood and metal cleaners and polishes
Toilet cleaners
Tub, tile, and shower cleaners
Bleach (laundry)
What can you do?
Get educated! Visit: http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/ingredients.htm
• Step One: Go to the National Institutes of Health Household Products Database and find out what you have in your home
• Step Two: Enter names of chemicals and see which brands contain them
• Step Three: Look up Toxicity Information or Health Information for the chemical
Take action!

I love gallery walls. I have a slight addiction to them in our house. We have six so far, with at least two to come. My favorite (at this moment, at least), is the growing up gallery I made for annual photos of my son, starting a few weeks before he was born through high school graduation. http://www.dejongdreamhouse.com/2012/11/growing-up-gallery.html
