The transformation in the nursery is finally complete.  It has been a long overdue project to complete and I am sure more changes will take place in the near future, but for now we are loving it and calling it good.

One of the main features in this room is the gallery wall that runs along the left side of the room. It started with this….

See how I painted the stars with a faux galvanized finish here:

but it didn’t feel right and really wasn’t my style. I threw this together and realized the stars didn’t go with the vintage car theme and I didn’t like just having 3 frames up on the wall, so I decided to create a gallery picture wall instead.

After a little thrift store shopping I came home with a couple 4×6 and 5×7 frames that were only about 25 cents apiece. This is what the wall turned into….

But, it still wasn’t finished. After a can of white spray paint, DIY artwork made from the computer, paper Mache letter G, and craft paint, the gallery picture wall has transformed into this….

All artwork was made DIY which made it easy to customize it to this space and allowed us to stay within in our budget.

These are vintage car decals….some are really old….we’re talking 1930’s I think. I surprised my Hubby and put them together in this frame with some checkered scrapbook paper behind them. He loved it and hopefully little guy will too!

This was a budget friendly transformation that was under $5 and made a big impact in the nursery. It feels a more trendy, stylish, and fun!

We love the results!

It went from looking like a picture in a magazine to personalized and warm feeling. The after has so much more personality. I love it. I would love to do a girly version of this for the hallway between my girls room. :)
